The idea is IRIS instance will generate a human-readable summary that highlights whether the system is configured according to InterSystems best practices.
Key configuration checks might include:
Are Large Pages enabled?
Is the Maximum Per-Process Memory set to -1
?
Is a Virtual IP (VIP) configured for IRIS for Health or HealthConnect?
Is the HSSYS database mirrored?
Are Global Buffers configured in proportion to available physical memory?
...and other key system parameters.
This would help system administrators more easily validate and maintain proper configuration, ensuring alignment with InterSystems recommendations.
Phase Two (Optional Extension):
An AI/ML-based report that could analyze ^SystemPerformance reports to detect common issues, such as:
Insufficient available memory for the number of active processes.
Global Buffers too small, leading to excessive disk reads.
Slow disk etc.
This would give admins actionable insights into both configuration and performance optimization, reducing the time needed to troubleshoot/manage IRIS instances.
Thank you for submitting the idea. The status has been changed to "Needs review".
