Create standardized llms.txt documentation for InterSystems products to improve LLM code generation quality for ObjectScript, Caché, and IRIS development

ObjectScript and InterSystems technologies are underrepresented in LLM training data, leading to poor code generation, hallucinations, and incorrect syntax suggestions. A standardized llms.txt file would provide LLMs with authoritative, structured documentation about ObjectScript syntax, IRIS/Caché APIs, best practices, and common patterns - improving the quality of AI-assisted development.


How could it work? Host llms.txt at docs.intersystems.com/llms.txt containing:

  • ObjectScript syntax patterns and examples

  • IRIS/CachĂ© class library references

  • Common design patterns (REST, Business Processes, persistent classes)

  • Embedded SQL syntax and global access patterns

  • MCP server integration examples for querying IRIS

  • Best practices

This follows the emerging llms.txt standard, making InterSystems documentation easily discoverable by AI systems and giving the community control over how LLMs understand and generate InterSystems code.
