There is no reasons to have it as part of IRIS There are two ways of using twain source
Interactive, when user somehow interact with application interface and device itself. This have to be implemented on client side of the application. ZEN is deprecated, so, no more client development in IRIS
Non-interactive. When all work supposed to be automatic. Using Automatic scanners with feeders, and external tools like Adobe Recognition Server, for IRIS left only work with files in Interoperability
